承接歷史的接力棒，淺談Sacrimony在Kamelot心中的定位

昨天北美的新古典力量金屬樂隊 Kamelot 在 Napalm Records 的官方 Youtube 頻道發佈了〈Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)〉的現場演唱版本，並同時公開即將開放預購的最新 Live CD/DVD《I am the Empire - Live from the 013》的消息。這張 Live CD/DVD 為紀錄 2018 年時 The Shadow Empire Tour 於荷蘭蒂爾堡的 the 013 Live House 中的演唱會紀錄。

實際上 Kamelot 的現場紀錄一直以來都是頗具品質保證，2006 年時發行的《One Cold Winter's Night》甚至有過在 amazon 上 34 則評論中高達 30 位給出五星評價的誇張表現，自然這張《I am the Empire - Live from the 013》也將會樂迷相當值得關注的一張專輯。

說回來〈Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)〉這首歌曲，作為 Tommy Karevik 第一首掛名為 Kamelot 主唱的專輯中的第一首釋出的歌曲，這首歌之餘 Kamelot 3.0 而言算是一手意義深遠的歌曲，在當時，多數評價 Tommy 算是完美的繼承了 Roy Khan 在 Kamelot 中的重要位置。〈Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)〉這首歌為《Silverthorn（銀之棘）》之中的核心歌曲之一，與 Kamelot 的多數專輯相同，《Silverthorn》也是以單一核心故事為主角的概念專輯（Concept Album），情節為樂團自行創作的虛構故事，情節本身單純，但由於大量在角色的心理變化中加以描述（這也是 Kamelot 一直以來很擅長的部分），使得相對單純的故事也有著深刻的變化。

〈Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)〉在編排上為銜接著專輯 Intro 的次曲，但實質上在專輯的地位上就是破題的首曲，〈Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)〉以四平八穩的 verse-chorus form 進行創作，並在 chorus2 與 pre-chorus3 中間加上了 bridge 與 solo，藉此強化與深化核心旋律的記憶點，編曲上除了基本的樂隊配置（旋律吉他、節奏吉他、低音吉他、鍵盤與鼓），更大量的啟用了古典鋼琴、小提琴、人聲和聲等交響樂配置，構築了既厚且實的音牆。最後在主唱的選擇上，〈Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)〉為配合歌詞中以主教第一人稱視角闡述與告解的同時面臨著悲劇主角 Jolee 的譴責與諒解，與自己內心中意圖逃避的心魔，採用了除 Tommy 外加入了女聲的 Elize Ryd 與死腔的 Alissa White-Gluz 用以詮釋主角外的 Jolee 與心魔，搭配上歌詞在自述過程中夾雜告解、對話、命令等口語對白，慢慢地藉由這些角色彼此間的對話，為這場悲劇揭開序幕。

而此次由 Napalm Records 發行的《I am the Empire - Live from the 013》中的〈Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)〉，更是超乎一般規格外的三原唱（Tommy Karevik、Elize Ryd、Alissa White-Gluz）同台演出，可說是最高規格的〈Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)〉，喜愛這首歌的朋友如果心有餘力，也可以試著在聽不到演唱會的疫情期間支持樂團的這張 Live Album 喔。
